Q. How will I get to the museum from the hotel?
A. If there is adequate need beyond carpooling etc, a shuttle will be provided to transport students to and from the museum.
Q. What's the deal with the meals?
A. One evening meal will be provided on Friday and one midday meal will be provided Saturday.. Coffee, water and snacks will be made available throughout class times. There are restaurants within easy walking distance from the museum.
Q. Is alcohol served at the Faculty Concerts?
A. We do not have a liquor license. A limited amount of wine, beer, bottled water and soda will be made available at the concerts for free.
Q. Will there be handouts?
A. Handouts will be entirely at the discretion of the instructors. Monroe-Style is the focus here and intensive group lessons are what you will get the most of. This style of playing is best taught by mimicry, repetition, ear training, study of repertoire and historical influences. If the instructors provide hand-outs, the primary use will be for review after camp is over.
Q. May I record the classes on audio and/or video?
A. This is also up to the individual instructor and permission must be granted prior to taping of any kind.
Q. Will there be a group picture?
A. Yes, the group photo will be taken at the Rosine Barn Friday evening.
Q. Do you have supplies (strings, picks, straps) available?
A. Yes. We have strings, picks, straps, string winders, CDs, DVDs, books, magazines, cups, shirts and hats in our gift shop for you to purchase if the need arises.
Q. May I record the Faculty Concerts?
A. No.
Q. Are there commemorative posters and t-shirts and do they cost extra?
A. Yes. They are free to those who register before May 1st, 2008. The t-shirt is $20.00 and the poster is $10.00. We highly recommend these items as well as the leather mandolin straps for instructor autographs.
Q. Will the instructors be selling CDs etc.?
A. Yes, however these purchases must be paid for separate from those items purchased in the museum gift shop.
Memberships and donations to the museum are encouraged and will be greatly appreciated!
